WISCONSIN — As temperatures cool and Halloween events roll out, it’s clear that fall is finally here in Wisconsin.

That means many Wisconsinites and their families will venture out to start their fall traditions, whether it’s visiting the local pumpkin patch or the apple orchard, hiking through the forests of gold or baking those sweet apple pies.

Here, we round out some of the top pumpkin patches around the state.

Milwaukee area

Linders Pumpkin Farm 

19075 W. Cleveland Ave., New Berlin, Wis. 

Linders Pumpkin Farm is open every day starting Sept. 21 through Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Parking is free, and there's no admissions fee. While perusing the pumpkins, guests can also head to a petting zoo, explore a corn maze, try out pumpking bowling or enjoy other activities for an additional fee.

Cedarburg Creek Farm 

649 Hwy. 60, Cedarburg, Wis. 

Family-owned Cedarburg Creek Farm has a pumpkin patch, corn maze, petting zoo, a barrel train and more. The farm is open daily from Sept. 21 through Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting. The pick-your-own-pumpkin patch features thousands of pumpkins and is free to enter. The farm also puts on a tractor show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 14 and 15. 

Basse's Pumpkin Fest 

3190 County Line Q, Colgate, Wis. 

After you select your perfect pumpkin, spend the day at Basse's playing games in the "barncade," sipping a beer from the Beer Barn, visiting the bunnies, watching the duck races, completing an obstacle course, conquering the slides or mechanical bulls and enjoying dozens of other activities. Pumpkin Fest opens on Sept. 21 and runs through Oct. 31. The festival is open on weekdays from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., and offeres extended hours on weekends, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission price varies by day and can be found, here

Buffalo Bill's Pumpkin Farm 

9612 W. Oakwood Rd Franklin, Wis.

From a pedal car track to pumpkin bowling, Buffalo Bill's Pumpkin Farm offers an array of fun activities besides pumpkin-picking, starting Sept. 21 until Oct. 27. However, there is still a huge selection of pumpkins, gourds, corn stalk bundles and more. Some of the new activities this year include tug of war and giant connect four. On Oct. 26 and 27, guests can bring their furry family members to enjoy a special event, Pets in the Pumpkin Patch. The farm is open Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10. 

Madison area

Schuster's Farm 

1326 U.S. Hwy. 12 and 18, Deerfield, Wis. 

Schuster's Farm features more than 14 acres of pumpkins for you to find the perfect pick from Sept. 21 to Nov. 2. The farm also features an eight-acre corn maze, hayrides, a haunted forest, yummy treats over a bonfire and dozens more fall-themed activities. Ticket prices vary and can be found, here

On weekends, the farm is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (except for Nov. 2, when the farm will open at noon and close at 6 p.m.). The farm is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. The farm is closed Tuesdays. Anderson's Pleasant Patch Pumpkins 

2313 Koshkonong Rd., Cottage Grove, Wis. 

This self-service pumpkin patch is open from Sept. 21 through Oct. 31. Wagon rides to pick pumpkins are available on weekends, starting Sept. 28. Gourds, squash, corn stalks, straw bales, ornamental corn and crafts are also available to purchase. There's also a haunted house and hiking trail on site. 

Enchanted Valley Acres  

5047 Enchanted Valley Rd., Cross Plains, Wis. 

From Sept. 7 through Oct. 27, Enchanted Valley Acres features plenty of pumpkins for your choosing; you can also purchase carving and painting kits to make your pumpkin the prettiest from the patch. Enchanted Valley Acres features scenic views, sunflowers, concessions, a corn maze, slides and play areas. It's open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays in September, and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October, as well as select Thursdays that month. Admission is not required for the pumpkin patch, but other activities will require a ticket, which can be purchased, here

Green Bay area

Cuff's Farms 

N2299 Ledge Hill Rd, Hortonville, Wis. 

From Sept. 28 through Oct. 27, for $12 a person, pick one large pumpkin, a mini pumpkin, a gourd and one piece of corn straight from the field at Cuff's Farms. Plus, enjoy a wagon ride at the family-owned farm. Wood-fired pizza is served in the evenings and there is a free play area for children. 

Porter's Patch 

W4314 State Hwy. 156, Bonduel, Wis. 

From Sept. 20 through Oct. 27, Porter's Patch puts on Farmtoberfest. Porter's Patch offers 55 kinds of pumpkins for you to pick your perfect one. While you're there, you can make your own scarecrow, decorate your pumpkin, make a bouquet, try out the NFL-themed corn maze, play games and try tons of their autumnal activities. Admission is $11.37; the patch is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Berryland 

5687 Steinkraus Ln., Abrams, Wis. 

Select your pumpkins, gourds and autumn decor at Berryland this fall. Berryland also hosts kid-friendly haunted hayrides, games, crafts, Monster Mash dancing, duck races, mums and more. Berryland fall activities kick off Sept. 20 and run through Oct. 31. The farm is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission prices vary.
