JANESVILLE, Wis. — After an EF-2 tornado ripped across part of Rock County Saturday evening — just one of at least six to touch down in Wisconsin this weekend — city crews in Janesville Monday continued to help neighbors clean up and rebuild.
"The impacts are severe in the areas where the tornado went through," said Kevin Lahner, the city manager of Janesville. "Fortunately, it's isolated to some small areas, small neighborhoods in the southern part of the City of Janesville."
Lahner said once the storm stopped, the work began and it appears set to continue there for the foreseeable future.
"That's something we've been managing since the tornado hit," Lahner said. "As of right now, our DFW crews are working 12 hour shifts to do brush and tree removal for our residents."
