GREEN BAY, Wis. — Last year, Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander skipped most of the team’s offseason work. His season was marred by a one-game suspension when he crashed and commandeered a coin flip in Carolina.

This year, Alexander is at the Organized Team Activities and doing everything he can to be a team leader for the Packers.

“Oh, man, I’m super motivated,” said Alexander. “I feel like every offseason, always a fresh start to do better and get better. So, that’s why I’m here.”

“Ja’s been outstanding,” said Packers head coach Matt LaFleur. “He’s been here every day, shows up. Great attitude, eager to learn, is out there competing with the guys, talking trash, which I love because I love just amping up that level of of competition, in a fun way.”

Alexander repeatedly brought up that this is year seven for him in the NFL.

“We all grow at different stages of our lifetime, whether that be sooner or later. It’s just trial and error and also wanting to be here for the guys. They need a leader around here,” he said.

Alexander said he’s impressed with new Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.

“I like Jeff,” said Alexander. “He’s been great since day one. Preaches aggression, getting after everything. He’s a cool guy. We got a bunch of athletes on the field who like to make plays and can make plays. I think this is going to work really well.”

Alexander has a new outstanding co-star in the secondary in safety Xavier McKinney.

“Having ‘X,’ we already are on the same page with things. He communicates, has a little bit of fashion sense. I say he’s the second best-dressed in the DB room now,” joked Alexander.

When assessing the future of the Packers, Alexander said, “the sky’s the limit.”
