GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Packers continue their Organized Team Activities in Green Bay. Last week, new Packers running back Josh Jacobs was nursing a minor hamstring injury. Wednesday, Jacobs was able to do more as he adjusts to life in Green Bay after coming from Las Vegas.
“I just like how peaceful it is,” said Jacobs. “It’s just football. It reminds me of college, the days where you’re grinding, but it’s purely for the love. It kind of brings you back to home. So, it’s pretty fun.”
Jacobs only made the playoffs one time with the Raiders in 2021 and rushed for 83 yards. Getting there again is one goal for him with the Packers.
“I never really played playoff football,” said Jacobs. “So for me, especially as a back, you prove yourself in the games that really matter. I haven’t really got that opportunity. So, that’s something that I’m definitely looking forward to doing.”
When asked about Packers quarterback Jordan Love, Jacobs couldn’t contain his enthusiasm.
“Man, for him to be as young as he is and to be playing at the type of level he is right now, and only getting better,” said Jacobs. “I think he’s going to be the next superstar quarterback in this league.”
Jacobs said he gets excited when he thinks about the Packers’ potential.
“It’s just fun to come in and see the guys, actually hungry and working really hard on a day-to-day basis,” said Jacobs. “And it just brings you like a little juice back to you, gets you a little excited.”
“I think he’s a fit in any offense, just his running style,” said Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur. “He runs extremely hard. He’s really tough to take down. He’s got great hands out of the backfield. He’s great in pass protection. He’s a great teammate, great leader. I’ve enjoyed getting to know him. And so, I think there’s a lot of great things he brings to our football team.”
Jacobs can’t wait for his first snow game.
“I’ve been wanting to play in the snow since I was a kid,” said Jacobs. “As a running back, as an offensive player in general, I think cold games are the best because defenders don’t really want to tackle you. So for me, man, I can’t wait. Hopefully, we get one.”
Jacobs said former Raiders teammate and former Packers receiver Davante Adams told him he’d love Green Bay.
