MADISON, Wis. — Two Wisconsin students have earned U.S. Presidential Scholars awards from the U.S. Department of Education.

  • Anica Tipkemper-Wolfe from Cedarburg Senior High School and Ezra M. Linnan from Sevastopol High School earned the U.S. Presidential Scholars award from the U.S. Department of Education

  • 161 high school seniors earned the award this year

  • Every year, the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars selects students based on their academic grades, essays and community service, among other qualifications

Anica Tipkemper-Wolfe from Cedarburg Senior High School and Ezra M. Linnan from Sevastopol High School were among the 161 high school seniors across the U.S. to earn the award. 

As one of the highest honors for high school students, the national award recognizes students’ achievements in academics, arts and career and technical education.

“Anica and Ezra are shining examples of the possibilities when passion meets perseverance,” state superintendent Jill Underly said. “Their hard work and creativity have demonstrated how opportunities in the arts and career and technical education help our students be well-rounded, future-ready leaders. I applaud them for their success and am so proud to call them U.S. Presidential Scholars.”

Every year, the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars selects students based on their academic grades, essays and community service, among other qualifications. 

The 2024 Presidential Scholars class will be recognized during an online program this summer.
