MILWAUKEE — Alverno College announced Monday it plans to cut faculty and staff positions, citing “ongoing financial pressures.”
Alverno said in a statement it was being “proactive” by “diligently exploring diverse strategies to maintain its mission’s integrity.”
The college said cutting faculty and staff positions would increase its “financial sustainability.” The college said within the next 60 days, it plans to recommend faculty cuts, staff cuts and program changes to its board of trustees.
“These are challenging and uncertain times for higher education and Alverno, but our dedication to providing exceptional educational experiences and fostering community involvement remains resolute,” the college said in a statement.
The college did not say how many positions could be cut or what programs would be impacted.
