MILWAUKEE — Amylu Foods has acquired Klement’s Sausage Company, a division of Tall Tree Foods.
Amylu Foods said the move aligns with its goal of “offering its customers premium, high-quality meat products.” Amylu will be able to diversify its offerings with snack sticks and summer sausages now in the company’s portfolio.
The company said acquiring Klement’s Sausage Company will also allow for enhanced production capacity.
“The addition of Klement’s Sausage Company to the Amylu Foods family marks a significant step in our growth strategy,” said Steven Zoll, chairman & CEO of Amylu Foods. “We are excited to welcome this iconic Wisconsin brand into our portfolio and look forward to offering our customers an expanded range of premium meat products.”
A spokesperson for Amylu Foods said Klement's Sausage Company's employees will not be let go; there are about 300 Klement's Sausage Company employees. Klement’s Sausage Company’s manufacturing plant and corporate office are located in Milwaukee.
"Amylu Foods is committed to preserving the legacy and heritage of Klement's Sausage Company, including its workforce and facilities in Milwaukee. While specific plans for the facilities are still being evaluated, their intention is to leverage these assets to enhance production capacity and expand our presence in the region," the Amylu Foods spokesperson said.
Klement’s Sausage Company was founded in 1956 by the three Klement brothers. It crafts its sausages — including snack sticks, smoked sausages and summer sausages — from old family recipes via small-batch production. The company was acquired by Altamont Capital Partners in 2014.
“We are delighted to unite with the dynamic Amylu Foods family,” said Jeff Baker, president of Klement’s Sausage Company. “This strategic combination promises exciting prospects for both brands, empowering us to extend the reach of our cherished Wisconsin flavors to an even wider audience.”
