OSHKOSH, Wis. — About a month after an initial report of separate women finding a man in their bedrooms, Oshkosh police are reporting a third incident.
Police said that at around 1 a.m. on May 5, a female arrived at her residence near the 800 block of John Avenue and saw a male standing in her bedroom near her unoccupied bed.
Police said the female reported that she then screamed and left the residence. When she returned later, the male wasn’t there anymore. She described the male as 6-foot-2 and said he was wearing skinny jeans, a black shirt and a ski mask.
Police are asking anyone with video surveillance cameras in the area to review footage in case the suspect was recorded on camera.
There were two similar incidents reported to the Oshkosh Police Department last month. It is unknown if the two are related.
In the first incident on April 1, a woman reported that around 7:28 a.m., a male entered her residence near the 800 block of Vine Avenue. She said the male was standing in the doorway to her bedroom. The male fled the scene after the female yelled at him. He was described as being skinny and around 6-foot-2 in height. She said he was wearing a slim fitting black jacket, dark pants and a white mask.
The second incident took place on April 14 at around 4 a.m. A female said a male had entered her house on the 1200 block of Wisconsin Street. The female said she woke up and saw the male standing over her while she was sleeping and she then screamed. He then fled.
That male is described as white and between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall, having a muscular build, about college age and having brown chin length hair. He was also wearing a long sleeve dark colored t-shirt, dark pants and a black ski mask that covered half his face.
Investigations for all incidents are ongoing. All three took place in the neighborhood around the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus.
Police encouraged anyone with information to contact Oshkosh PD at 920-236-5700, or to remain anonymous, Winnebago County Crime Stoppers at 920-231-8477 or through the P3 App. Police are also asking people to lock all windows and doors and make sure video surveillance cameras are in working order.
