MILWAUKEE — Packers fans are still buzzing over the team’s announcement that the opening game will be played against the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The kickoff game will happen in September and everyone from travel agents to sports lovers are already checking out all the details to make it to South America for the fun.
Marcus Rovere lives in Brazil and also runs an X page (formerly known as Twitter) for Packers fans in Brazil. He said he can already feel the excitement. The Packers have a strong fan base in the South American country, despite fútbol being the most popular sport.
Rovere said he believes tickets will be very hard to come by. The stadium is about half the size of the Packers stadium and fans who wouldn’t normally be able to come to the U.S. to see a football game will come from other South American countries to view the rare event.
