WAUKESHA, Wis. — With the warm temperatures in Wisconsin, many people are trying to keep cool by the water. Staff at Buchner Pool and Community Center kept busy on Thursday as 800 people came in to swim.
Peyton Piranio relaxed poolside after completing a certified nursing assistant course.
“It’s so nice to do something big like that and then come up and wade in the water and just relax,” said Peyton Piranio. “It’s nice.”
He jumped off the diving board a couple of times but mainly waded in the water.
“It was a little cold off the start, but the sun's hotter so you want to be out in the water,” said Peyton Piranio.
His brother Preston Piranio and his girlfriend tagged along too.
“It’s definitely been warm this summer,” said Preston Piranio. “We haven’t been here before. It’s a nice, recently new pool, so we’re checking it out.”
The brothers said they are thankful the city has public pools for the community to enjoy — especially on these hot days to take a break from the heat to relax by the water.
“A lot of the houses around here everyone’s got small backyards,” said Peyton Piranio. “So to have a pool that everyone can come to is nice.”
