Former University of Wisconsin Badgers player JJ Watt announced Tueday on Twitter that he will retire after this season.
In the tweet, he said his final NFL home game was on Christmas Day.
The 33-year-old Pewaukee native posted of his young son Koa and wife Kealia, saying it was his son's first ever NFL game and his last home game.
"My heart is filled with nothing but love and gratitude. It’s been an absolute honor and a pleasure," Watt said in the tweet.

The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year (2012, 2014, 2015), and five-time first-team All-Pro, was drafted by the Houston Texans in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Watt played the first ten seasons of his career with Houston before being traded to the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cardinals still have two games left on their schedule, at the Falcons and the 49ers.
He was also the Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2017 for helping raise millions of dollars for Hurricane Harvey relief.
