The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported one new COVID-related death and another drop in hospitalizations on Wednesday.
The CDC reported 115 people in the hospital with the coronavirus, including 17 in intensive care and three on ventilators.
The one death reported Wednesday was a woman in her 70s from Penobscot County. The death, the first reported since Thursday of last week, brings the total number of deaths since the pandemic started in Maine to 2,408.
The Maine CDC also reported 249 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday morning, bringing the total since the pandemic began to 267,956. Of those, 193,125 are listed as confirmed and 74,831 are described as probable.
