WISCONSIN— October is finally here and the countdown to Halloween has already started. Once you outfit the perfect costume, you need to know where to go, and when. 

We rounded up trick-or-treat information for more than a dozen of Wisconsin's largest cities. 

1. Milwaukee

The City of Milwaukee keeps things traditional, with all official trick-or-treating taking place on Sunday, Oct. 31, from 1 to 4 p.m. 

2. Madison

Madison does not recommend people trick-or-treat this year with the rise of coronavirus variants in the city, but if you plan to take the kids out to celebrate, traditional trick-or-treating is on Sunday, Oct. 31 from 4 to 8 They typically host a downtown trick-or-treating event on State Street and Capitol Square. Due to the pandemic, it's been called off. 

3. Green Bay

Green Bay invites the community to go trick-or-treating on Sunday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. City officials encourage flashlights and glow sticks to remain visible after sunset. Other safety guidelines include skipping dark houses, staying with an adult and making sure your costumes are flame resistant. 

4. Kenosha

The City of Kenosha has also set its trick-or-treat hours for Sunday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. City officials said it is tradition for Kenosha to host trick-or-treating on Halloween, but if residents don't want to partake, they can simply turn off their lights to deter unwanted calls for candy. 

5. Racine

Racine's official trick-or-treating hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31. The city will throw its annual Candy Crawl on Oct. 23 and 30. Kids can dress up to trick-or-treat at local businesses from noon to 3 p.m. 

6. Appleton

Appleton-area trick-or-treaters can start ringing doorbells in their neighborhoods on Sunday, Oct. 31 from 4 to 8 p.m. 

7. Waukesha

Waukesha residents can expect trick-or-treaters to fill the city's sidewalks from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31. 

8. Eau Claire

If you're interested in trick-or-treating in downtown Eau Claire, where you can visit local businesses for yummy treats, plan to block off Oct. 29 this year. The event runs from 3 to 5 p.m. This leaves plenty of time for neighborhoods to throw their own trick-or-treating events over the weekend, but most Eau Claire neighborhoods will have trick-or-treating on Sunday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. 

9. Oshkosh

Kiddos on the hunt for candy can start ringing doorbells on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m., until 7 that night. 

10. Janesville

The City of Janesville will hold trick-or-treat hours on Sunday, Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. this year. 

11. West Allis

West Allis trick-or-treaters can pick up candy from neighbors on Sunday, Oct. 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. 

12. La Crosse 

La Crosse officials said trick-or-treating lasts from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31. 

13. Wauwatosa

If you're on the hunt for Halloween treats in Wauwatosa, plan to hit the town on Sunday, Oct. 31, from 1 to 4 p.m. that afternoon. 

14. Sheboygan

Want-to-be ghosts and dazzling Disney princesses in training can start trick-or-treating in Sheboygan on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. Trick-or-treat winds down at 7 p.m.

15. Fond du Lac

Good news for young ones in Fond du Lac: Halloween fun starts a whole day earlier for you. Trick-or-treating in the area will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
