MILWAUKEE — A popular Milwaukee summertime event is gearing up for its revival.
The Milwaukee Night Market presented by Meissner Tierney Fisher & Nichols S.C. returns from 5-10 p.m. Wednesday on West Wisconsin Ave between 2nd St. and Vel R. Phillips Ave. The market, put on by Westown Association and NEWaukee, is a free, outdoor street festival that showcases Milwaukee vendors and artists.
Madison-based American Family Insurance is sponsoring 20 Black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) vendors participating in this year's market.
“It’s exciting to have the popular Milwaukee Night Market, a community event that brings so many city residents together, return in 2021,” AFI office of community and social impact advisor Ranell Washington said in a release Thursday. “American Family is pleased to sponsor 20 local entrepreneurs of color, allowing them to showcase the variety of quality products and services they offer. The pandemic has hit small businesses particularly hard, especially our diverse businesses, so providing an opportunity to promote and sell at this event is particularly important.”
AFI-sponsored vendors include:
- Raising Good
- Queens Crown Essentials
- Style Pop Cafe
- WoLF Studios MKE
- Tres Flores Funnel Cakes
- Fit4YouMKE
- HoneyBee
- Sage Wellness & Apothecary
- MKE Black

The market, making its first return since 2019, will feature over 100 food and craft vendors and local organizations.
These include but are not limited to:
- Tatay’s Truck
- Junior’s Smoked BBQ
- Pedro’s South American Food

West Wisconsin Ave between Plankinton and Vel R. Phillips Ave, and Old World Third between Wisconsin Ave and Wells St will be shut down from noon to 1 a.m. the day of the event.
