MILWAUKEE, Wis (SPECTRUM NEWS)- Midwest Express is unveiling more about their plans as the Milwaukee based airline is resurrected. Wednesday Midwest Express revealed that they plan to fly direct service from Milwaukee to Omaha, Cincinnati, and Grand Rapids.  An exact date for when service will begin has not been announced, however Midwest Express CEO Greg Aretakis says flights will begin before the end of 2019.

The original Midwest Express ceased service in 2010 after financial challenges forced its sale to Republic Airways. The new Midwest is likely to get back to its roots, catering to the business community. The airline says the destinations chosen for the initial launch were picked in part by looking at historical flight data and talking with Wisconsin based companies about their travel needs.

“There are companies that need the service we are going to provide. That is what gives us the greatest thrill. We keep on hearing from companies that say will you fly to this place or that place or the other place. Those inputs are highly valued by us because the business community constantly changes their needs.” Says Aretakis

Midwest Express is partnering with Elite Airways, who will provide aircraft and flight crews during the launch period. Service from Milwaukee will be on 50-seat Bombardier CRJ 200 regional jets.
