Ryan Burk is thrilled to be a part of the Spectrum News 1 team. For him, getting to tell impactful stories about the people and places that make The Badger State a great place to call home is what makes the job so unique. Prior to joining the Spectrum News 1 newsroom, Ryan worked as a Feature Reporter at WCIA-TV, the CBS affiliate in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. He has also worked as a reporter at WSAW-TV in Wausau where he won the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Award for "Continuing Coverage". A proud alumni of Marquette University in Milwaukee (Go Golden Eagles!), Ryan graduated with a degree in Broadcast and Electronic Communications. For him, getting to return to the city that inspired his love of journalism is a dream come true. Throughout Ryan’s time reporting, he considers each story he shares to be just as meaningful as the next. However, stories about people who go above and beyond to help out others in their community are the ones that inspire him each day as a reporter.
When not out shooting stories, Ryan’s favorite place to be is on a boat or near a lake. More so, Ryan enjoys traveling, cooking, spending time outside exploring Wisconsin while enjoying quality time with friends and family.
