MILWAUKEE (SPECTRUM NEWS) – Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) bus drivers helping out lost children isn't unusual but finding two kids lost on the same day is.
Cressida Neal spotted a boy barefoot, scared and crying near Capitol and Humbolt at 4:40 a.m. while driving the RedLine on July 5.
“My mother instincts just kicked in right away and I knew he needed help, so I just called him on board the bus and I tried to help him best I could, and I thank God that I was in that place at that time to be able to help him,” Neal said.
Just a few hours later, Cecilia Nation-Gardner noticed a little girl walking along Route 15 in Cudahy.
The girl told Cecilia she wanted to find her mom who lives in another state.
“She was just walking with her blanket saying she was going where her mom was, and when I asked her where her mom was she said Georgia,” Nation-Gardner said. “I was like 'okay baby, come here.'”
If Cecilia's name sounds familiar, you may remember back in May she ran into traffic to help a boy who walked away from school.
