After a few showers and thunderstorms moved across Wisconsin Thursday, expect more widespread showers and thunderstorm activity Thursday night into early Friday. A few thunderstorms may be strong to severe producing large hail and damaging wind gusts. The window of time we are most concerned with is from 8 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday. Be sure to have multiple ways to receive weather alerts since many of the storms will move in while we are sleeping.

Temperatures overnight will drop into the 50s and any lingering showers and thunderstorms will move out early Friday morning.

Friday will be cloudy and warm in many areas with parts of southern and eastern Wisconsin reaching into the 60s and 70s. However, a cold front will sweep through the state, dropping temperatures and triggering another potential round of thunderstorms Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening. A few storms may be strong to severe, especially in southeastern Wisconsin, but this is all contigent on how the atmosphere recovers after wet weather and storms Thursday night into early Friday.
