COLUMBUS, Ohio — The John Glenn Columbus International Airport announced some traffic and lot changes ahead as they prepare for construction of a new terminal, set to open in 2029.

  • International Gateway (eastbound) will reduce to two lanes, and the Cell Phone Lot will move to a new temporary location

The changes will take effect Monday, Jan. 13, and will include slight traffic changes and the relocation of the Cell Phone Lot, accoding to a release from the airport.

Concerning the traffic changes, eastbound traffic on International Gateway will see a reduction to only two lines and will widen as drivers approach the terminal. This will be accompanied by a reduction to the speed limit as well “to ensure safety during this transition.”

The Cell Phone Lot will be located on International Gateway by the Rental Car Center, near the John Glenn International sign, the airport said. This location will be temporary.

“We thank our passengers for their patience and cooperation as we work to enhance the airport experience,” the release reads.
