COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Central Ohio Transit Authority has announced that they are again waving fare costs for active-duty and retired members of the military on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

“COTA’s Board of Trustees once again unanimously approved a resolution in September to waive fares for veterans and active military on Veterans Day,” a COTA release reads. “This is the 9th year COTA has provided this for local veterans, beginning the tradition in 2016.”

In order to have their fares waived on Monday, riders just need to show a military ID, wear clothes that identify them as veterans or even just verbally identify themselves as veterans or military members.

The release does note that, because of it being a holiday, the fixed-route bus lines will be operating on a Sunday schedule.
