CLEVELAND — As of Friday, a handful of beaches along Lake Erie's shoreline are under a Bacteria Contamination Advisory after officials found E. coli in the water, according to the Ohio Department of Health's Beach Water Quality and Advisory Map.
Here are the areas under the advisory:
- Lakeshore Park in Ashtabula County
- Arcadia Beach in Cuyahoga County
- Bay View East, Bay View West, Darby Creek and Whites Landing in Erie County
- Lakeview Beach in Lorain County
- Catawba Island State Park in Ottawa County
According to ODH, during a Bacteria Contamination Advisory, the water could make people sick. Children, the elderly and those in ill health or weakened immune systems are advised not to swim.
