CLEVELAND — For the seventh year, the Asian Lantern Festival will be returning to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo this summer.
From July 5 to Aug. 25, visitors can see large-scale displays, acrobatic performances and enjoy culturally inspired food. Attractions will include walk-through tunnels, themed areas such as Crystal World and the Blooming Gardens, a 50-foot-tall pagoda and more.
Additionally, the zoo recently opened its Swan Voyage, which allows visitors to get in paddleboats and onto Waterfowl Lake, where they can see the displays. The zoo said five passengers can fit in the boats, and will be open until dusk each night of the festival.
During the festival, there will also be a 5K race on July 23, which guides participants around the grounds and through the colorful displays. Registration is $30, and people who sign up will receive a T-shirt, a finisher's medal and admission to the zoo.
The zoo is offering drive-thru and walk-thru options. Tickets are on sale now.
