CLEVELAND — Starting Wednesday, dinosaurs will be taking over the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo — animatronic ones, of course.
The zoo will open the Dino Cove experience near the Zoo's Waterfowl Lake, which will include a collection of more than 25 animatronic dinosaurs, hands-on experiences such as a fossil dig pit and photo opportunities.
Among the animatronics is a 65-foot-long Brachiosaurus and a 40-foot-long Tyrannosaurex Rex. It'll allow guests to learn more about the different types of dinosaurs across the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
Admission is $3 for members and $4 for non-members for the experience. General zoo admission is also required.
However, the Dino Cove is included in the Wild Savings pass, which also gives guest access to the Circle of Wildlife Carousel, Boomerang Line train rides, 4-D Theater and more.
Additionally, the zoo announced a new way for guests to explore the grounds. Soon, visitors can get aboard the Swan Voyage and paddle through Waterfowl Lake. More details and an opening date will be announced soon.
“We are always looking for ways to enhance the experience for our guests by creating unique opportunities to experience the Zoo,” said Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Executive Director Chris Kuhar in a press release. “With the addition of Dino Cove and Swan Voyage near the Eagle Zip Adventure, Waterfowl Lake will be the Zoo’s entertainment hub this season.”
