OHIO — With Ohio's 75 state parks and eight National Park service sites, the Buckeye State is home to thousands of miles worth of trails.
It's also home to the best hiking trail in the country, according to a recent report.
USA Today's 10 Best Reader's Choice ranked Hocking Hill's Whispering Cave as the best hiking trails out of 10 others in the nation. The report is based on opinions from a panel of experts, and then the readers pick their favorites among those selected by the experts, according to USA Today.
"Whispering Cave is just one of the many hikes in Hocking Hills State Park, which stretches across 2,356 acres," the description reads in the report. "This 5-mile loop is moderately challenging and offers hikers access to a fun swinging bridge, the second-largest cave in the region, and a picturesque seasonal waterfall."
Last year, Hocking Hills State Park was voted as a top place to travel to in 2023, according to Forbes. It features towering cliffs, waterfalls and hemlock-shaded gorges for hikers to explore.
