OHIO — Youth hunters in the state checked in 1,785 turkeys during the hunting weekend on April 13 and April 14, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. That's slightly less than last year, but above the three-year average.
Last year, youth hunters harvested 1,823 turkeys, and the three-year average for wild turkey harvests is 1,466 birds.
The season was open to those 17 years old or younger, and they had to be accompanied by an adult who isn't hunting.

- Muskingum (52)
- Coshocton (47)
- Meigs (45)
Turkey hunting for all ages starts Saturday, April 20 and Saturday, April 27 in the northeast zone (Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga and Trumbull counties). The season will end Sunday, May 19, while the northeast zone’s season ends Sunday, May 26. More information can be found here.
