CLEVELAND — We're still a couple months away from the Kentucky Derby, but some Cleveland drivers may have had a taste Saturday as horses ran loose near downtown on I-90 east of Dead Man's Curve near Burke Lakefront Airport.

Bruning confirmed to Spectrum News 1 that there were no accidents as a result of this incident.

In the video, police can also be seen following the horses. Cleveland Division of Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Freddy Diaz confirmed that these horses did in fact belong to the police. They had gotten loose during routine exercise at the nearby stable on East 38th Street.

Diaz also confirmed that the horses were recovered within minutes and noted that there were no injuries or accidents.
