COLUMBUS, Ohio — Land Grant Brewing in Columbus' Franklinton neighborhood is well-known for their outdoor space, but co-founders Adam Benner and Walt Keys are embracing the cold and expanding this winter.

"We've thought about it and people love to get outside in the winter. That might sound counterintuitive, but if you give them a reason to get outside, I think it makes folks really happy. They get excited and there's like a festive you know, holiday vibe or seasonality to it," said Keys.

  • Winterland reservations are available now on Land Grant's website 

  • Besides their usual offerings, Land Grant has seasonal beer options, including "Winterland"

  • Winterland will continue through the season

They've brought back their Brewery Curling, "It's sort of a simplified version of curling. So instead of the big curling stones, like you'd see at the Olympics, we use little mini kegs and you slide across the ice," he said. You can reserve 90-minute sessions on the ice and get access to a private beer garden igloos.

This year, they've expanded to an adjacent lot called "Gravity Experience Park," and set up another ice rink to do ice bumper cars," So we're always looking at new ways to get folks down here, get them involved. Get them to try our beer, but also give them a great time," said Keys. 

Wintergarden will be open until spring or until the weather is too warm to maintain the ice rinks.
