CLEVELAND — The U.S. Geological Survey reported Friday that a 2.3-magnitude earthquake hit northeast of Madison, Ohio.
USGS said the earthquake happened before 9 a.m. near the Grand River in Lake County. Data shows it had a depth of about 3 1/2 miles.
USGS rated the earthquake "III" which also means "weak" because there wasn't any property damage reported and wasn't very intense. Most earthquakes with a 1.0-magnitude rating are rarely felt, USGS states.
It was Lake County's 15th earthquake this year, according to the USGS.
In August, Lake County had two earthquakes hit within a week. One was a 4.0, and another was a 2.3, according to USGS.
