CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo welcomed its newest addition this week: a 7-year-old Masai giraffe named Rocket.
Rocket came just in time for World Giraffe Day, which falls on June 21. He came from the Turtle Back Zoo after a recommendation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
He joins the other two female adult giraffes, Jada and Jhasmin. Guests can visit Rocket daily, and he's not hard to spot — he's the tallest one. He's about 16-feet-tall, and he'll continue to grow, the zoo said.
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo family continues to grow. In late May, the zoo also welcomed a baby bison calf.
