BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio — The county identified its first case of monkeypox on Aug. 10.
In a tweet, the county announced that a health department within the county had received a positive test result for monkeypox.
The test came from a local health care provider and no information on the patient was given in the new release.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are 73 cases of monkeypox in Ohio and more than 9,000 cases across the country.
