OLMSTED TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Olmsted Township Fire Department is sending some of its gear to help firefighters in Ukraine, the Cleveland Maidan Association announced Wednesday.

The equipment consists of helmets, coats and boots. The fire department is sending the equipment to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

The Cleveland Maidan Association said the equipment will go to those “responding to large-scale emergencies as a result of continued attacks on infrastructure and civilian areas in Ukraine by Russian forces.”

The Cleveland Maidan Association has been among the local organizations helping to rally donations for Ukraine.

Additionally, Cuyahoga County Council members voted in favor last week of sending surplus personal protection gear to support Ukraine forces.
