LOGAN, Ohio — Hocking Hills State Park, one of Ohio’s most popular outdoor destinations, is reopening sections of the park after much of the area was closed due to unsafe conditions.

Ohio State Parks said that Conkle’s Hollow State Nature Preserve, Cedar Falls, Rock House and Ash Cave all have reopened. The areas were closed for more than a week.

The state park system said that some areas, including Cantwell Cliffs, Old Man’s Cave (trails to the cave and along the gorge from Upper Falls to Cedar Falls), Whispering Cave (part of Old Man’s Cave) and the Rim Trail from Cedar Falls to Rose Lake remain closed.

Ohio State Parks urges hikers to continue using caution at Hocking Hills State Park and recommends the use of ice spikes on trails.
