CLEVELAND — The Ohio House Democratic caucus is looking for a replacement to fill the seat vacated by Stephanie D. Howse, who left the Ohio House to join Cleveland City Council earlier this month.
Those interested in becoming the next representative for Ohio’s 11th House district may apply through Ohio House Democratic parliamentarian Rep. Daniel Troy through Friday at 5 p.m.
Democratic state representatives will interview applicants to make a recommendation to the 34 remaining members of the caucus, the party said.
Whoever the Democrats choose will fill the seat through the end of the year and would need to run in November to continue serving.
The party said that Rep. Juanita Brent is assisting with constituent services while the seat is vacated.
The district serves parts of Cleveland’s Hough, Fairfax and Woodland Hills communities as it extends into Garfield Heights.
