CINCINNATI — For the fifth time in the 2021 season, Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was voted Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week — another award given after his Week 17 performance.

In Week 17, Cincinnati defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 34-31, to clinch the AFC North title.

During the game, Chase had 11 receptions for 266 yards and three touchdowns.

Chase’s yardage broke the franchise record for receiving yards in a game, the NFL record for most receiving yards by a rookie in a game and gave him the most receiving yards in a season by a rookie in the Super Bowl era.

With one week remaining in the regular season, Chase is 12 yards short of breaking Chad Johnson’s record for most receiving yards in a single season in team history.

Along with his eighth nomination for rookie of the week, Chase also won his second AFC Offensive Player of the Week award and his second Nickelodeon NVP award.

He also was awarded the Week 17 Game Ball presented by Wilson.

The Bengals finish the regular season at Cleveland on Jan. 9 before entering the playoffs.
