CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Indians announced that it will be open at full capacity following Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s announcement last week to suspend the state’s COVID-19 restrictions starting June 2.
Games for the remaining portion of the schedule will go on sale May 26 at 10 a.m.
The Cincinnati Reds previously announced that games at Great American Ball Park will also be at full capacity starting next month. Several Ohio minor league teams, including the Dayton Dragons and Toledo Mud Hens, have also announced their stadiums will open at full capacity.
The Indians also announced that face coverings will no longer be mandatory.
The Indians have averaged 7,351 fans per game. The Indians were permitted to fill 30% of their seats in April, and 40% of their seats for games in May.
For remaining games in May and June 1, attendance for games will remain capped at 40%.
