CLEVELAND — An organization that serves one of Cleveland's most economically challenged neighborhoods was facing a shortfall of donations this year for its Annual Day of Giving, that includes a massive toy drive.

  • Garden Valley Neighborhood House is a nonprofit that provides community support to residents of the Garden Valley neighborhood of Cleveland

  • The nonprofit says it was expecting a shipment of toys for its annual toy drive, but the toys did not arrive.  Organizers only had a couple of days to seek donations from community centers and individuals, including family and friends

  • The event was held at Anton Grdina Elementary School

 

Thanks to a last-minute outreach to individuals and community groups throughout the Greater Cleveland area, contributions arrived just in time for Christmas.

The Garden Valley Neighborhood House was able to ensure that nearly 1,000 children received gifts this holiday season.

The nonprofit organization serves the Garden Valley Neighborhood of Cleveland. Additionally, coats and other essential clothing items, as well as groceries, were distributed to hundreds of families.
