CLEVELAND, Ohio — This summer, Cuyahoga Community College is offering a free workforce success seminar, giving people access to education and job training online. It is part of the Tri-C Access Center initiative.

What You Need To Know
“So, it’s a one credit course that allows individuals across our community, A, to gain a good understanding of what it means to be ready for work today and it’s for individuals who might be starting a new job changing jobs or careers,” said Dr. Janice Marshall, vice president, access and community connections, Cuyahoga Community College.
The summer course is designed to sharpen your skills to succeed in the workplace, while providing an introduction to college.
“And it allows them to gain credit, right, and so for many individuals across the county who may not have ever gone to college or thought they were ready to go to college, it gives them a really good introduction to being ready for both work and for college,” said Marshall.
The Tri-C Access Centers' program began in 2019. It brings education and job training to neighborhoods gripped by poverty. The college partners with local community organizations, including Esperanza Inc. and Olivet Institutional Baptist Church. MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland is also a partner. The new online initiative is open to the entire community.
“We offer just an array of diverse programs that are both academic or workforce development-related and being ready for those occupations and careers affords those individuals to better themselves their families their communities and our county," said Marshall.
The online seminar begins June 8 and runs through the first week of August.
