CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo said it's extending the Asian Lantern Festival, which was set to end on Sunday. 

Instead, the festival will end on Sept. 14. 

Additionally, the zoo announced the return of Wild Ride, a one-night-only event on Sept. 15 which allows guests of all ages can ride their bike through the zoo after-hours and experience the illuminated displays one last time. Bikes are required for this event and not provided, and tickets can be purchased here

“Since its inception, more than one million guests have experienced the wonder of Asian Lantern Festival, including more than 105,000 guests this year,” said Cleveland Metroparks Chief Marketing Officer Kelly Manderfield in a press release. “With the inclusion of Dino Cove in this year’s event, there is more to experience after hours than ever before.”

There are more than 70 large-scale displays, acrobatic performances and culturally inspired food for guests to enjoy this year. Other attractions include walk-through tunnels, themed areas such as Crystal World and the Blooming Gardens, a 50-foot-tall pagoda and more.
