CINCINNATI — Less than 24 hours after signing running back Zach Moss, the Bengals are trading veteran running back Joe Mixon to the Houston Texans.
Mixon, a second-round pick of the Bengals in 2017, has spent his entire seven-year career in Cincinnati. He has eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark in four seasons. Mixon led the Bengals with 1,034 yards rushing and nine touchdowns last season.
Mixon will join the Texans and aspiring young quarterback C.J Stroud. Stroud played at The Ohio State University and was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year last season.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network announced Monday that the Bengals are giving running back Zach Moss a two-year, $8 million deal. Moss had 794 yards rushing and five touchdowns for Indianapolis last season.
The Bengals also announced they’re re-signing running back Trayveon Williams.
