STURBRIDGE, Mass. - Investigators in Central Massachusetts come up empty handed Friday in their search for a man involved in a 2016 domestic dispute.
Sturbridge Police relaunched their search for Brent Young, searching more than 200 acres Friday in an area they thought may lead to some evidence in the case.
Police said Young assaulted his girlfriend and stabbed his 16-year-old son on September 16, 2016.
He then sustained a self-inflicted knife wound to the neck and ran into a wooded area.
Law enforcement conducted a grid search Friday to help identify where Young may have traveled to based on his injuries.
"It's a software called SARTopo and what it does is, it's a mapping software” said Sturbridge Police Lt. Larry Bateman. “So basically, what it does is it lets us utilize, the mapping software area so we can pinpoint where our search rescuers are going to go. And they check into a QR code. And that QR code lets us watch them live so we can send them to a certain area that hasn't been searched in the past. And we can direct them to an area that needs to be searched."
There's been no activity on his name or through banking institutions or social media, and he's had no known contact with family or friends.
Sturbridge Police said there aren't any other searches planned at this time.
