WESTBOROUGH, Mass. – A Central Massachusetts native is set to make his NASCAR Cup Series debut in New England this weekend.

Driver Kaz Grala grew up in Westborough.

He said he started pursuing motorsports at a young age and became NASCAR’s youngest winner at Daytona International Speedway with a 2017 truck series victory when he was 18.

He said it's when he decided to focus on his racing career.

It will come full circle as he competes his first NASCAR Cup Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday.

"This is a big one,” said Grala. “And for me, it's obviously important because I get to be out in front of all the New England race fans, which I’ve always said, we may not have the most motor sports fans across the country, New England isn't a huge motorsports area, but I think we've got the most passionate ones because when we come out here to New Hampshire every year, it is packed. People are tailgating, having the time of their lives. They are so into it."

Grala attended middle and high school at Worcester Academy.

Sunday’s race in New Hampshire is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
