ADAMS, Mass. - A team of volunteers has been hard at work at Bowe Field in Adams this week to get everything set up and ready to go for the return of the Berkshire Mountains Faerie Festival this weekend.

This will be the fifth annual festival, but the first since 2019 because of the pandemic. It celebrates the summer solstice and embracing creativity.

The day features a range of activities, like building small faerie houses, live performances including a fire act in the evening, and several food and arts vendors.

Festival director Gail Sellers said people of all ages are encouraged to dress up and have fun with the festival’s theme of fantasy and whimsy.

“Any costume works, so if you want to be a robot, if you want to be a superhero, that’s fine,” said Sellers. “But I think it gives us permission to explore what makes us happy, so that’s part of it, and being creative.”

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday. More information can be found on the Berkshire Mountains Faerie Festival Facebook page.
