WORCESTER, Mass. -  It took a little longer than expected, but 136 Plantation Street, Worcester's oldest home, is sold.

The Benjamin Flagg house was sold last week for $329,000.

In late May, an offer was accepted on the home, but the property went back on the market in less than a week.

According to state records, the Captain Benjamin Flagg house was built around 1717 and is the city’s oldest house. It’s on the National Register of Historic places.

City records say part of the property burned down in 1786, and led Flagg to create the Worcester Fire Society.

The home was rehabbed in 1999.

In May, Spectrum News 1 got a tour of the historic home. The home features two units -- one on each floor -- with two bedrooms and one bathroom each. The building has a total of three working wood-burning fireplaces.

The home was presented by real estate agent Joe Abramoff of Real Living Barbera Associates
