What a beautiful start to the day! Dew points dropped into the upper 40s and low 50s across KY this morning, and actual temps were able to fall into the widespread 50s for many cities. The comfy morning will be followed by a comfy afternoon as dew points stay down and highs hover around the low-mid 80s. High pressure will have a firm grip on our weather, and it'll allow for lots of sunshine! Tonight, it'll be another comfy / cozy night with lows back into the widespread 50s.
Tomorrow, a southerly wind will return...leading to muggier & hotter conditions by the afternoon. Highs will climb into the upper 80s ahead of a cold front that'll cross early Thursday. This front will bring a chance for much needed rain, and the best timing will be late in the evening for areas near the Ohio River...mainly after Midnight...with the rain shifting east across the state before sunrise Thursday. Generally, up to .25" of rain will be possible... and we'll take whatever we can get.
Behind the front, a comfy air mass returns for the rest of Thursday with low-mid 80s and lows back in the 50s by Friday morning. However, an upper level ridge of High Pressure will build over the Eastern 1/2 of the U.S. leading into the weekend. This means a return of well above average temps with low 90s Friday into early next week. So, enjoy this nice Fall-Like weather while it lasts.
