  • Louisville men's basketball non-conference schedule released

  • There will be 10 home games, two will be exhibitions

  • The team will play a scrimmage on Oct. 11 and the game against UK will be Dec. 21

Fans can expect 10 home games at the KFC Yum! Center, two of the games are exhibitions.

Coach Kenny Payne is excited to start of his second season, saying in a statement, “Our non-conference schedule will allow us to prepare against challenging competition and provide a competitive atmosphere that our team is looking forward to. We’re thrilled to show you the high-character and competitive group that will be wearing the Cardinal uniform this season.”

UofL is 104-86 all-time against the non-conference opponents, but this season’s schedule will be a challenging one. The Cards will play No. 2 Duke, No. 5 UConn, No. 15 North Carolina, No. 17 Kentucky, No. 18 Miami and No. 24 Texas.

The Cardinals get the season started with the intra-squad Red and White Scrimmage on Oct. 11 and open exhibition play against Simmons College on Oct. 18. Former Cardinal and member of the 1980 National Championship team, Tony Branch, is the coach at Simmons. His teammate, Jerry Eaves, is the school’s athletic director. Both are UofL Athletics Hall of Fame inductees.

Louisville concludes exhibition play against Kentucky Wesleyan on Oct. 30.

The regular season begins at home for the Cards, beginning with University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) on Nov. 6 followed by Chattanooga and Coppin State.

Then UofL hits the road and heads to the Big Apple to play in the Empire Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project. There UofL meets the Longhorns of Texas and will then either face defending national champion UConn or the Indiana Hoosiers in the final game on Nov. 20.

The always anticipated game against rival Kentucky is set for Dec. 21 at the KFC Yum! Center.

UK leads the all-time series 38-17, including a win in Lexington last year. The Cards are 10-13 all-time at home in the series. The teams have met every season since 1983 except for the 2021-22 season when COVID forced the cancelation of the game.

Television channels and game times will be released later. Louisville’s ACC schedule will be released soon by the conference.

Single-game tickets to see the Cards this season start as low as $17 per game. Season tickets are also available. To learn more about tickets, fans can go online or call the ticket office at 502-852-5151.
