Katie Forcade joined the Spectrum News 1 team as an reporter in Nov. 2021. She loves to shine a light on important issues and spotlight impactful members of the community.

Originally from Leesburg, Virginia, Katie is a graduate of West Virginia University (go Mountaineers!) where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Political Science.

Before joining the Spectrum News 1 team, Katie worked as a journalist at Eyewitness News WEHT/WTVW where she had the opportunity to work in a community that she holds near and dear to her heart. One of the most impactful stories she covered during this time was a tattoo artist who does areola work for breast cancer survivors.

When she’s not in the newsroom or out in the field, Katie loves to explore Kentucky’s natural beauty, meet the friendly locals of Northern Kentucky, support the state’s many local businesses, and hang out with her cat Binx.
