LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Jefferson County Public School (JCPS) students are returning to the classroom on Friday, April 11 after historic levels of flooding in Louisville.
According to a letter sent to JCPS families and staff, there are still some bus stops that remain inaccessible. The district included a list of locations it will not be able to provide pick-up or drop-off services.
If your student is unable to attend school because of flooding or road closures affecting bus stops or your route, their absence will be excused, JCPS said. Families in those areas should notify their child’s school.
JCPS transitioned from Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) days to a delayed start on Thursday, April 10, before announcing in-person classes on Friday.
Early Childhood programs will not be in session on Friday because of a previously scheduled Blue Day.
