“There's a lot of snow on the ground, so I was like, 'We should make the most of the day; let's go sledding,'” said Sebastian Brooks, who has organized a handful of sledding meets this week with his friends.

Brothers Zac and Mac Tossou had a half day of school Friday. But once out, they hit the “slopes.”

“It's pretty nice; definitely icy," Zac Tossou said. "Super bumpy. There's a bunch of blocks of snow that are all iced up, but it's nice. It's cool."

This past Sunday, Jan. 5, close to a foot of snow fell in Louisville, followed by freezing rain and sleet. Nearly a week later, grassy surfaces are still blanked in mostly frozen hard snow.

Temperatures are expected to remain at or below freezing for several more days, meaning sledding conditions should stick around into next week.
