LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Atlantic Coast Conference named University of Louisville running back Isaac Brown its Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year. Brown is the first player in program history to capture both awards.
The Florida native rushed for 1,078 yards and 11 touchdowns in 12 games and averaged 7.3 yards per carry, ranking him No. 3 nationally. He is No. 2 nationally with six rushes of 40-plus yards. Brown is fifth in the ACC in rushing yards and touchdowns.
Brown recorded the second-most rushing yards by a freshman in the nation, UofL said, and is the first true freshman in Louisville history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. He set the school's freshman rushing record, surpassing Lamar Jackson's mark of 960 yards set in 2015.
Brown established career highs in Louisville's 41-14 win over Kentucky Nov. 30 with 26 carries for 178 yards and two scores, including a 67-yard touchdown run. He logged five games with 100 or more rushing yards, including two games with more than 150 yards.
