LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In 2020, Secretary of State Michael Adams, R-Ky., took a new route to recruit poll workers; he partnered with the Kentucky Guild of Brewers. Two years later, the Kentucky Wineries Association joined the party.
In 2024, Adams has renewed the partnership with both associations and added a new partner. The Kentucky Restaurant Association has come aboard to help secure poll workers.
“Conducting elections is a team sport, and I am grateful for the help of Kentucky’s wineries, breweries and restaurants in recruiting poll workers,” said Adams.
Customers will begin seeing restaurants, breweries and wineries hanging tags and putting up notices on tables asking for volunteers to work election polls in Nov. The notices have QR codes directing those who are interested to the secretary of state’s website.
Jessy Harding, Executive Director of the Kentucky Guild of Brewers, said, “As a nonprofit dedicated to advocating for the Kentucky brewing industry in all pertinent matters of legislation and governmental administration, it’s an honor to support our shared civic duty.”
